In late 2011, the KHIE Education Committee drafted the Health Information Exchange Education and Communication Plan designed to inform consumers, health care providers and policy makers about the existence and nature of health information exchanges in Kansas. The goal of the Communication Plan was to create an informed consumer who is an active participant in their health care.
The first phase of this plan called for the creation of informational material designed to promote consumer awareness of electronic health information exchanges (HIEs). Links to the resulting brochures, fact sheets and FAQs follow.
